I would totally recommend JT Auto Body shop for any car services needed. I really thought my car would’ve been totaled after my car accident by a drunk driver hitting my car. I have/had a thirteen-year-old, black, 4-door sedan that featured a crushed rear driver side door with a shattered window (taped up with cardboard covering the entire window), a heavily dented bottom frame that extended to the rear, and a slightly dented front driver’s side door.
I discovered JT Auto Body Collision and Repair on June 7, 2023, via online research. They were local, near my Lithonia and Conyers residential lines. They had really good reviews with before and after pictures so that I could really see their work. I saw cars that were heavily damaged just like mine and then saw those same cars repaired to their original gorgeousness. I became hopeful that I wouldn’t have to ‘total out’ my car, and relieved that I wouldn’t have to go car shopping!
I visited JT Auto Body on June 8, 2023, and discovered a simple, traditional, gravel lot with cars and folks hard at work. Paul, the owner, greeted us. He gave us realistic expectations about the repair of my car. He understood my desire to repair my car versus trying to buy another one. Paul was optimistic. He said that he would try to put my car back into good condition within three to four weeks. I dropped my car off on June 12, 2023. I relinquished control and let the team do what they do best. They were a few weeks off on the repair time due to the discovery of extensive damage to my car, but I didn’t stress over it since my main concern was getting my car repaired (versus it being ‘totaled out’). The repair time was a little over a month, I think six weeks (but I didn’t Zelle the first half payment until 5 days after I dropped off the car, so of course the parts ordering and repair start time was delayed).
When I called for updates, Paul relayed details of what was being done and what they would do next. Paul and his team tended to the discovered issues and repaired my car. I was able to pick up my car on July 27, 2023. I was in awe! Thoroughly impressed! I couldn’t tell that I had been in an accident. The crushed door was totally replaced with another door and nicely painted. The dents in the frame, back panel, and font door were gone and of course painted.
The only thing that slightly disappointed was the painting method. The job doesn’t include a full-over vehicle painting. A separate paint job was an option, but it would have come with a hefty price tag. Paul was kind and recommended two paint shops where I could get a car paint job for a less costly price. But the car visual was decent. One would have to really look my car over intentionally to take notice of the paint differences.
I initially waited a little over a month (beyond July 27, 2023) to post any type of review because I wanted to test the endurance of the repaired frame, etc. areas and I definitely wanted to test the endurance of the back door that was replaced. Everything held up just fine! As a matter of fact, this repair survived a second accident that I was unfortunately involved in a little over one month after getting my car back from JT Auto Body. That accident was the reason for this review’s delayed posting. Despite my car having to be ‘totaled out’ from the second accident (full frontal ruin), the rear door and frame that had been replaced and repaired by JT Auto Body stayed intact and still looked nice and new! It withstood a second accident! Impressive!
JT Auto Body is a cash-based business. My cost was $3835. I paid half down and the other half upon completion. Those using JT Auto Body should come prepared to pay with cash or prepare to use the bank cashier’s check option. Zelle may still be an option, ask about it. Debit cards or credit cards were not usable as a payment method back in June or July 2023, but things could have changed since then. Call to discuss all payment options. I’m happy with JT Auto Body and Collision’s work on my car. I recommend others give them a try.
